This past year brought comprehensive restructuring for Frannie Peabody Center. In addition to programmatic changes; our Board of Directors implemented a three-year strategic plan designed to strengthen our budget, streamline our agency and keep our mission clear and concise. Our mission is to prevent the spread of HIV and provide support for people living with HIV/AIDS in Maine. Perhaps the most significant structural change was the decision to close Peabody House. Thanks to advances in medicine, people with HIV/AIDS are living longer, more productive lives. As a result, Peabody House saw a significant decline in occupancy over the last three years, while our clients had an increased need for independent housing. Today, Frannie Peabody Center provides housing assistance to more than 400 low-income individuals living with HIV/AIDS in Maine. As part of our Independent Housing Program, we provide assistance to secure comfortable housing and ensure dignity for clients in their final days; never forgetting why the Peabody House Program was initiated in the first place. Since 2004 the number of clients served by Frannie Peabody Center’s case managers has increased 40 % from 228 to 320. Despite improvements in the lives of people living with HIV/AIDS, the stark reality is that people still die from AIDS. We need your help now more than ever. Without your support we could not continue our work of serving those with HIV/AIDS in Southern Maine. With gratitude and appreciation,
