Sara Panella
Program EvaluatorFor every interaction with clients and beyond, there’s a complicated system of reporting that allows FPC to track vital statistics and information across many platforms. This sometimes painstaking work is refined and perfected by FPC’s Program Evaluator Sara Panella. Having worked at the agency for over five years, Sara provides support across all FPC programs including grant-writing, data collection and reporting to funders. Sara ensures that programs adhere to all contractual and reporting requirements and also evaluates program outcomes – work critical to our ongoing success.
Originally from central NY where she studied at Syracuse University, Sara received her B.A. in Political Science and International Relations, then going to work for Bristol-Myers Squibb in quality assurance for biotechnology pharmaceutical manufacturing. She relocated in 2006, drawn to Portland for the opportunities for outdoor activities New England provided as well as its proximity to the ocean. Sara’s interest in, and work analyzing outcomes for FPC has also led her to USM’s Muskie School of Public Service where she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Policy Analysis.
Never one to forego a personal challenge, Sara is currently training for the Tough Mudder competition 2012, a “10-12 mile obstacle course designed to test all around strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie.” Huge fans of the tightknit community feel of Portland, she and her partner Becca reside in Munjoy Hill, where they have three cats and a puggle named Vida who visits FPC offices on a regular basis.
